Special Days Winter Camp 2008 was amazing. There was a lot of snow to play in, which made it possible to go sledding and even cross-country skiing! Campers played capture the flag and broomball, went on horseback rides, and even participated in the Special Days 2008 Winter Olympics!
Friday afternoon, the campers arrived. They met their counselors and fellow campers, moved into their lodges, and started having fun! That night, campers danced the night away in the dining hall, and took in a movie at the Fellowship lodge. On Saturday, Joe Pounds brought the whole Arts & Crafts gang, and they transformed the old North Center dining hall into a flurry of activity. Campers ate homemade deep-fried Oreos, made "found art" sculptures, learned how to juggle, sang karaoke, and even got their picture with High School Musical's Zac Efron! (Okay, not the Zac Efron, but it sure looked like him...) Sunday came all too soon. At our closing ceremony, parents heard all about the fun stuff that happened during the weekend, while campers performed their favorite Special Days songs. We heard about Mark's latest fundraising efforts, and thanked our latest group of graduating Outback! We hope to see them all as SITs this summer!
