Special Days Tech TeamSpecial Days Tech Team is a group of staff members who document camp life and help bring magic to camp programming. We try to do so from a very "fly on the wall" perspective; to catch them smiling, laughing and having a good time without any "in your face" camera or interview techniques. You will work with campers ages 5-17 in a 1,200 acre camp setting; you may want to bring a bike! We cover a lot of ground. Please be prepared to share samples of your work. All applicants must be 19 years or older, and a criminal background check is required. Tech Team - PhotographerPrior experience with a digital SLR is required; most applicants prefer to work with their own equipment. Experience with image management software (Adobe Lightroom, Apple's Aperture, Adobe Bridge) is required; you should also be familiar with Adobe Photoshop. Tech Team - VideographerPrevious camera experience is required. Candidates should be familiar with use of a miniDV camcorder; having your own equipment or access to equipment is a plus. Training in cinematography or broadcast arts a plus. You need to be able to "hit the ground running" and be familiar with different types of shots, good at hand-held, etc. Experience with digital video editing software is a plus; we use Apple's Final Cut. Tech Team - JournalistOur goal is to publish a two-page, full color newsletter during every full day of camp, covering the previous day's activities and informing the kids of the day's weather, menus and upcoming activities. The Special Days Newsletter editor is capable of every step of the process -- from being a 'roving reporter' (taking pictures, writing captions and copy) to handling layout and print, and posting a PDF of the newsletter online. Previous layout experience is required; Adobe InDesign experience a plus. |
